The Theatre Sound Colloquium

A day of informal discussion and exchange about the art of theatre sound design jointly hosted by the Association of Sound Designers and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Featured topics:

• The Sound of Musicals - changing trends in musical theatre sound design
• The Auditory Scene - psychoacoustics, audience coverage and localised sound
• New Tools, New Possibilities - emergent technologies such as Procedural Audio and the creative design process

Each topic will take the form of a presentation followed by panel and open discussion
.

• In conversation – Theatre sound design pioneer David Collison.

The event will be held at The National Theatre (The Lyttelton), and will include invited audio industry professionals, producers, directors, composers, artists, researchers and critics. The day will be structured and introduced by Ross Brown (RCSSD), Gregg Fisher (RCSSD) and Gareth Fry (ASD), and will conclude with a drinks reception, which all present are warmly invited to join.
